The Gold Coast is famed for its 42 kilometres of
beautiful beaches. They range from protected areas for family swimming to
excellent surfing locations for the more adventurous wave riders.
The calm waters along the edge of the Southport Broadwater, protected inlets
such as Tallebudgera Creek and bays such as Greenmount and Coolangatta beach are
favourites for families with young children.
The open beaches from Main Beach to Tweed Heads are enjoyed by swimmers, body
surfers and board riders alike.
Every day, 16 beaches (up to 26 during school holidays) are patrolled, so please
observe all surf safety signs and flags and only swim in patrolled areas.
But there's more to the Gold Coast than just beaches...
There is a choice of cruises available, all
departing from the piers in the Marine Village.
See Sanctuary Cove from the beautiful perspective of the Coomera River. Tours
with full commentary take 20 minutes and depart hourly from 11:00 am until 4:00
pm from the Boat Shed on the Promenade.
Cruise to Stradbroke Island for a tropical lunch aboard the Shangri-La
before continuing the cruise down the Broadwater to Fisherman's Wharf on The
Spit. The all-inclusive fare includes return coach transfer back to the hotel.
Take a trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Take off from Broadwater on a low-level
flight over Stradbroke Island, Moreton Bay and Fraser Island, landing on Lady
Elliott or Lady Musgrave Island for a day of snorkelling, scuba-diving and
glass-bottom boat viewing.
Conrad Jupiters Casino, open 24 hours a day, is situated on Broadbeach Island at Broadbeach, approximately 40 minutes' drive south of Sanctuary Cove. Catch the shuttle bus, or a limousine may be arranged.
The perfect place to experience being close to an exciting range of fauna and flora. This National Trust of Queensland property is on the Gold Coast Highway at Currumbin, approximately 35 kilometres from Sanctuary Cove.
Australia's premier theme park is just ten minutes away from the resort on the Pacific Highway at Coomera. There are nine themed worlds of fun and fantasy for the whole family to enjoy. Open every day of the year except Christmas Day from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Life on a traditional Aussie farm is colourful and exciting. Learn how to shear sheep, milk a cow or throw a boomerang. Try whip-cracking, lamb feeding, wool-classing and spinning. Country rodeos and barn dances are all part of life found on our farm resorts.
Fish for marlin and other game fish on the open ocean, fish for smaller sport fish on the sheltered Broadwater, fish for bass on Hinze Dam, or catch your own mud crab and cook it for lunch on the Tweed River.
A bird's eye view of the spectacular coastline is possible from a range of flying machines. Choose from the speedy and comfortable helicopter or the peaceful and gentle hot-air balloon. Try skimming across the calm waters in a seaplane or a quick spin through the skies in a Tiger Moth plane. For the more adventurous, and the brave at heart, a bungee jump free-fall dive from a 15-storey high platform offers an unforgettable experience.
A fun-filled day exploring North Stradbroke
Island in comfortable, air-conditioned 4WD vehicles. Up bush tracks, through
creeks, past serene lakes and along endless white sandy beaches, this unique
experience is for those interested in the wilderness.
The day includes a hearty barbecue lunch on the beach, with pickup from and
return to the hotel.

Pacific Fair shopping centre is the Gold Coast's
major shopping centre and the second largest in the southern hemisphere,
approximately 20 minutes' drive away.
In the business district of a nearby suburb about 25 minutes' drive away is the
major shopping centre, Australia Fair.
Robina Town shopping centre, with world-class shopping, offers the whole family
a day of fun and excitement and can be found within 30 minutes' drive, while the
smaller Runaway Bay shopping centre is only ten minutes away.
Enjoy any of a number of major sporting events, such as the Gold Coast Indy, the JAL Marathon, the Magic Millions horse race and many other exciting events.
Water sports are synonymous with an outdoor lifestyle. Try jet-skiing, parasailing, windsurfing or simply basking in the sun. Learn how to ride a boogie board or surfboard, or experience the thrill of a high-speed toboggan ride behind a speedboat.
