improve your distance control around the green

Two main things determine your distance control around the green.

 Firstly you need to tidy up any contact issues that cause miss hits (fat & thin shots).

 

Start experimenting with what your current acceleration rate is.

 

Think of it as 3 x levels.

 

1. Too soft - decelerating.

2. Smooth acceleration (ideal!!)

3. Too fast / aggressive

 

Start chipping ball to a target with a #2 acceleration rate. If the ball goes too far shorten your backswing – if it goes too short lengthen your backswing until it rolls the correct distance.
