Develop and practice a Pre-Shot-Routine that reduces thinking and prepares you for your best swing motion. Playing golf is ‘comfortably hitting the ball to a target’. Practising golf is ‘you’re more interested in the swing NOT the shot’. Don’t take a lot of swing thoughts onto the golf course.
A well-structured Pre-Shot-Routine (PSR) is the key to being in the right mental state to play your best golf.
The PSR is the 10 second ritual leading up to starting your swing.
· A calming / breathing routine to start the routine
· Pick your target and visualize a great shot
· Casually walk in / aim and get comfortable
· Trigger the swing smoothly
· Accept the shot result then switch off until the next shot
