Choosing the Right Club
The sand wedge is the go-to club for bunker shots because of its loft and bounce. Bounce refers to the angle between the leading edge and the sole of the club, which helps the club glide through the sand instead of digging in.
Use a sand wedge with 54-58 degrees of loft for most bunker shots.
For longer bunker shots, a pitching wedge or gap wedge can work.
Avoid using irons with low bounce as they tend to dig too much in the sand.
Selecting the right club makes the shot easier and more predictable. If you would like to setup a new Sand Wedge I can do a custom fit session for setting up the design of the club.
